Anticipation

Anticipation is...

Excitement.

Expectation.

Suspense.

My life, just like yours, has been full of anticipation.

I run a marathon in 8 days. That sentence, even as I write it, causes anticipation and the sensation of butterflies in my stomach. I know that once I have completed this race and checked it off of my bucket list all will be fine. It's the fear of the unknown that causes the suspense and at the same time the excitement that I feel.

I just arrived home today from Atlanta, GA. I went to a conference called "Catalyst." It's for church leaders who love the local church. And that clearly and definitely describes the passion in my heart. This conference was a highly anticipated event for me. Despite the 18 hour road trip there and back, I was expecting God to reveal his Word and Himself in a new way, a fresh way to my heart. He did just that.

I could go on and on, being a preacher and all, but it is my desire to keep these posts to a minimum. So let me say this...

There are many other things in my life that I am excited about. Many events that fill me with anticipation. Events that keep my heart full of expectation and suspense. Life is a journey. What comes next? I don't know.

How about you? What are you expecting? What are you excited about?

Are you full of anticipation?
