The Richest Place on Earth
I was preaching this past Sunday and said, "the graveyard is the richest place on earth." I was quoting Les Brown. Les Brown is a top Motivational Speaker, Speech Coach, and Best-Selling Author, loving father and grandfather, whose passion is empowering others and helping them have a larger vision for their lives.
Here is Les Brown's full quote:
“The graveyard is the richest place on earth, because it is here that you will find all the hopes and dreams that were never fulfilled, the books that were never written, the songs that were never sung, the inventions that were never shared, the cures that were never discovered, all because someone was too afraid to take that first step, keep with the problem, or determined to carry out their dream.”
I have always liked this quote because it reminds me to take the first step towards the goals and dreams that God has placed in my life. I want to get to the end of my life and know that I gave this life my all! I want to die empty. I don't want to take anything with me to the grave. This can only happen with God working in my life.
Look at what Ephesians 3:20 has to say about God working in our lives.
"Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think." Ephesians 3:20
God is able to do INFINITELY more in our lives than we could ask, think, or imagine! That's an awesome thought!
My encouragement to you this week is this: take the first step. What is a dream or a goal that you have been putting off? Take the first step and trust in God as He works in you! He wants to accomplish more in you than you ever thought was possible!
Until Monday, Josh
